A Recovery Workshop Production  -  Come heal, feel and laugh!

Produced by Sonoma Foundation for Behavioral Heath
the Andrew Conti Workshop

Andrew Conti, grew up in the Bay Area, a talented musician and artist, grappled with his own battles with mental health and addiction until his passing last year. His fellowship, his friends, and his family allowed him to be sober at the end of his life.  It is with the clarity of a sober mind that Andrew began to write the screenplay "Roofing". His unfinished work serves as a poignant reflection of the struggles of many, delving into themes of loneliness, entrapment, and the yearning for love and freedom. Although Andrew was unable to complete his work, we honor his legacy by presenting an adapted version of his play, exploring the universal human experiences magnified by addiction and mental health challenges and the search for self forgiveness, acceptance and a way to embrace the flawed and hopeful life thats possible to live on the road to recovery. Our adaptation not only tells the story of Seth, Lucy, Arthur, but also reflects the broader narrative of a sf/bay area community ensnared by addiction and searching for liberation. - Genre Serio-Comedy

Andrew J J  Conti
Andrew J J Conti grew up in San Rafael, California and graduated in 2015  from Marin School of the Arts. He studied creative writing and music and attended Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Ca studying journalism and working for the paper as an editor and writing feature album reviews.
His music can be heard on Bandcamp and Soundcloud and includes such tracks as  music recorded in institutions [unfinished cuts and concepts] and Ultimatum for Blemish.
Andrew was deeply committed to recovery and the fellowship he was a part of. And he loved to work. He worked as pizza guy, a dairy farmer,  then a server and, finally, a cook. But his favorite job by far was as a Roofer.

Senadhi Parakrama
Senadhi Parakrama is the co-writer and co-director of Roofing.
Senadhi Parakrama is a licensed clinical psychologist currently serving as the Chief Clinical Officer for Sonoma Recovery Services, where he directs clinical programming and development for both the Olympia House Residential and Olympia House Intensive Outpatient Programs. These programs have been dedicated to offering comprehensive residential and outpatient services since their establishment in 2013, catering to individuals grappling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Despite their struggles, many of the clients that went through these programs were also extremely talented musicians, singers, dancers, and artists. As a result of his experiences with them Dr. Parakrama had an idea to develop a performance art workshop or program to have art and performance be a vehicle for both expressing emotions and building community.
In 2022 the non profit  Sonoma Foundation for Behavioral Health (SFBH) was developed with the vision of extending education, training, support, and resources to underrepresented and under-resourced populations in Sonoma County. As President of SFBH, Dr. Parakrama launched the Andrew Conti Workshop, a performance art workshop,  as its inaugural project within the community.

Kathryn Keats
Kathryn Keats is the co-writer of Roofing. She is an award winning performance artist, playwright and a teaching artist. She was thrilled when Senadhi suggested participating with him in  the Andrew Conti Workshop through the Sonoma Foundation for Behavioral Health and that Roofing be its first vehicle to support and heal others through performance art.
Kathryn might be recognized by audiences for her award winning beat musical The Hummingbird directed by David Ford.
She is a Drama Critics Circle Award recipient and is a member of Actors Equity and Sag/Aftra. She can be seen soon in 180 Days a new play written by the Marshs creative director/playwright Stephanie Weisman. Kathryn is grateful to her family and friends for their strength and love. She is ever grateful to Judge Leo Dorado and his wife Lee for their constant support and Senadhi Parakrama for his creative partnership.
Kathryn, Richard, Brianna and Lorenzo and everyone who loved  Andrew J J  Conti raises him up in eternal peace. Fly with the doves, son.
